Job Summary
RHT Africa is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in renewable energy systems to join our team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and implement electrical systems for our sustainable energy projects, contributing to the advancement of clean energy solutions across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
System Design and Development
- Design electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hydropower installations.
- Create detailed engineering plans, schematics, and specifications.
Project Implementation
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Technical Analysis
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments.
- Perform system modeling and simulations to optimize performance.
Maintenance and Support
- Develop maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Collaboration
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and contractors.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on renewable energy systems.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing solar PV systems or wind energy projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP).
- Knowledge of energy storage systems and grid integration.
- Familiarity with international electrical codes and standards.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
